Donna Mitchell

Donna Mitchell began her artistic journey as a child, with a natural inclination to draw. She was born and resided in West Virginia, where she worked to develop her artistic abilities through dedicated self-study. In 1991, after moving to Carlisle, Pennsylvania, she studied portraiture at The Art Center School and Galleries under the instruction of established portrait and figure painter Karl Foster. Her subjects vary from portraits of people and pets to wildlife, still life and landscapes. Although she is a painter of diverse subjects, she is best known as a commissioned painter of people and animals, giving particular attention to detail and accuracy. She is realistic in style and her paintings are noted for their delicate yet bold beauty.  She now enjoys teaching pastel painting classes and workshops at The Art Center School & Galleries.  Donna has won numerous awards and has exhibited throughout many Eastern states.  She works from her home studio and welcomes commissions.
